World renowned football agent Mino Raiola has tragically died aged 54.
The Italian was best known for representing a host of football superstars such as Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, Manchester United's Paul Pogba and Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He forged a reputation as a "super agent" and was involved in a raft of huge deals over the past several years.
He was hospitalised in January this year and it was falsely claimed earlier this week by reports in Italy that he had passed away.
A post on Raiola's official Twitter quickly debunked the reports on Thursday.
But a statement from his family on Saturday now confirms his tragic passing.
It reads: "In infinite sorrow, we share the passing of the most caring and amazing football agent that ever was.
"Mino fought until the end with the same strength he put on negotiation tables to defend our players. As usual, Mino made us proud and never realised it.
"Mino touched so many lives through his work and wrote a new chapter in the history of modern football. His presence will forever be missed.
"Mino's mission of making football a better place for players will continue with the same passion."
