The Minnesota Vikings kept all 10 of their draft picks last year with nine on the roster and one on the practice squad. On Tuesday, they chose to waive one of those picks. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings have waived 2022 fifth-round pick Esezi Otomewo.
Otomewo was viewed as a project as a defensive end coming out of the University of Minnesota and his playing time reflected that. The Vikings essentially kept him on the roster for a redshirt season and only played him in the final five games of the regular season.

During those five games, Otomewo accumulated only five tackles and 1.0 tackles for loss.
The defensive line room is slowly taking form and Otomewo is a candidate for the practice squad.
