The Minnesota Vikings are in the process of getting their quarterback of the future, and they made one more step toward that process.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have acquired the 23rd and 232nd overall picks in next month’s draft from the Texans in exchange for the No. 42 and No. 188 selections and a second-round pick in 2025.
This is a massive shift in the 2024 NFL draft, giving the Vikings a lot more firepower to move up as having multiple first-round picks in this year’s draft is worth more than future picks.
According to the Rich Hill trade chart, the Texans gave up 245 points of value, while the Vikings gave up 269 points. The deal is tilted toward the Texans but only to the value of the 119th overall pick in the fourth round.
This sets the Vikings up with more assets to make a massive move at quarterback.
