The wife of a Minnesota pastor who was killed while on a missionary trip with his family in Africa has been arrested in connection with his death. Beau Shroyer, 44, a former pastor of Lakes Area Vineyard Church, moved his wife and five children to Angola in 2021 to become missionaries. Shroyer was tragically killed in an act of violence in Angola on Oct. 25, as announced by Lakes Area Vineyard Church Lead Pastor Troy Easton.

Easton shared that Shroyer's wife, Jackie, has been arrested, leaving the community in deep grief and shock. The couple's five children are currently being cared for by missionaries from SIM USA and SIM Angola.

Shroyer's dedication to serving the marginalized Nyneka people in Angola was evident in his social media posts. He highlighted the lack of access to education and vocational training opportunities for young individuals in the area.

Former colleague David Dorman described Shroyer as a selfless and compassionate individual who genuinely cared for the less privileged. Shroyer's commitment to helping others extended beyond his missionary work to his real estate career, where he was known for going the extra mile for his clients.

Despite the shocking turn of events, those who knew Shroyer expressed admiration for his courage and unwavering faith. Dorman emphasized Shroyer's impact as a client advocate and a true servant in his profession.

Beau Shroyer's decision to leave a successful real estate business in the United States to serve in a Third World country was seen as a testament to his bravery and selflessness. His dedication to his family, faith, and mission work left a lasting impression on those around him.

Through his regular email updates, Shroyer shared the challenges and rewards of their missionary life, showcasing his commitment to addressing extreme poverty and providing educational opportunities in Angola.
