Minnesota Governor Tim Walz revealed in a recent interview that Vice President Kamala Harris advised him to exercise caution in his choice of words. During an appearance on '60 Minutes,' Walz mentioned that Harris had expressed concerns about his phrasing on certain issues, although he did not specify the exact points of disagreement.
Walz acknowledged that Harris had urged him to 'be a little more careful on how [he] say things.' This advice comes in the wake of several instances where Walz has faced criticism for inaccurate statements. These include falsely claiming to have carried assault weapons 'in war,' incorrectly stating that his children were conceived through in vitro fertilization (when they were actually conceived through a different fertility treatment), and asserting that he was present in Hong Kong during the 1989 pro-democracy protests in Tiananmen Square.
Despite these controversies, Walz expressed confidence in the trust he has garnered from voters. When questioned about his credibility and whether he can be relied upon to tell the truth, the governor affirmed his belief that he can be trusted. He admitted to occasional lapses in judgment, referring to himself as a 'knucklehead' at times, but emphasized that those closest to him can attest to his integrity and commitment to keeping his word.
