Minnesota Governor Tim Walz strongly condemned former President Donald Trump's recent remarks suggesting the use of the military to address political opposition. Speaking at a convention center in Green Bay, Walz expressed his disgust at Trump's proposal, stating that it made him 'sick to his stomach.'

Walz characterized Trump's comments as a 'call for violence' and deemed them 'un-American.' He emphasized that the suggestion of deploying the National Guard or the US military against political adversaries was alarming and should not be normalized.

Referencing former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley's assessment of Trump as a significant threat to the country, Walz labeled Trump as a 'fascist to his core.' He urged the public not to shy away from acknowledging Trump's true nature and to recognize the danger posed by his rhetoric.

In a recent interview, Trump had raised the idea of using the military to address what he termed as 'the enemy from within,' specifically pointing to 'radical left lunatics.' Despite downplaying concerns about potential disruptions from his supporters or foreign entities, Trump's focus on internal opposition drew criticism for its authoritarian undertones.

Walz's forceful denunciation of Trump's remarks reflects growing unease over the former president's rhetoric and its implications for democratic norms. The debate surrounding the appropriate response to political dissent remains contentious, with concerns about the erosion of civil liberties and the rule of law.
