Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz Defends Military Record With Pride

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is also the Democratic vice presidential nominee, recently addressed criticisms regarding his military record during a speech in Los Angeles. Governor Walz expressed his pride in his service in the Army National Guard, stating that he is 'damn proud' of his military service.

Speaking at the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union convention, Governor Walz responded to attacks from Republicans, including GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance, who accused him of misrepresenting his military record and avoiding overseas deployment. Governor Walz received applause from the audience as he defended his military background.

He also highlighted his contributions as a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee during his time in Congress.

In his speech, Governor Walz emphasized his pride in serving his country and stressed the importance of respecting the military service of others. He firmly stated, 'I am damn proud of my service to this country, and I firmly believe you should never denigrate another person’s service record.'
