Minnesota Governor Tim Walz spoke out against former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies during a rally in Tucson, Arizona, highlighting the issue of immigration at the US-Mexico border. Walz criticized Republicans for attempting to shift blame onto migrants and failing to provide effective solutions to the border crisis.

Addressing a crowd of supporters at a high school gymnasium, Walz emphasized the need for a bipartisan approach to border security. He referenced a border security bill endorsed by the White House and Vice President Kamala Harris, which was blocked due to opposition from Trump.

Walz accused Trump of prioritizing political gain over finding a resolution to the border situation, stating that the former president preferred to exploit the issue rather than work towards a solution. He praised Harris for her commitment to seeking a comprehensive and humane response to immigration challenges.

The Governor also drew a comparison between Trump and the late Senator John McCain, highlighting the endorsement he received from prominent Republicans such as Liz Cheney, Dick Cheney, and Jim McCain. Walz emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing complex issues like immigration.

During his speech, Walz referenced a report by journalist Bob Woodward alleging frequent communication between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He criticized Trump's alleged close relationship with Putin, contrasting it with the principles of freedom and independence traditionally associated with the Republican Party.

Walz's remarks underscored the ongoing debate over immigration policy and the contrasting approaches of the Democratic and Republican parties. The rally in Arizona served as a platform for the Governor to advocate for a more inclusive and cooperative strategy towards border security and immigration reform.
