Minnesota Governor Tim Walz recently responded to questions regarding clarifications made by his campaign regarding his time serving in the Army National Guard. During an exclusive interview, Gov. Walz emphasized that his record, spanning over 40 years, speaks for itself.

When asked about previous statements where he mentioned being 'in war,' Gov. Walz clarified that he was referring to a school shooting incident and the discussion around 'the ideas of carrying these weapons of war.' He also humorously mentioned his wife's critique of his grammar.

Pushing back on Republican criticisms, Gov. Walz expressed frustration, stating that attacks on him range from his military record to his family and even his dog.

Governor Walz, who served in the Army National Guard from 1981 to 2005, affirmed his respect for fellow service members and emphasized that he would never diminish another member's service.

Earlier this month, the Harris campaign acknowledged that Gov. Walz had 'misspoke' during a 2018 campaign event when he referenced handling assault weapons 'in war.' This acknowledgment came after a video of the 2018 remarks was shared, leading to accusations of 'stolen valor' by JD Vance, a former Marine Corps member.
