Minka Kelly is set to star in a new romantic-comedy feature for Netflix titled Champagne Problems. The film, directed and written by Mark Steven Johnson, follows Kelly as a mergers and acquisitions executive who travels to France just before Christmas to finalize a deal for a champagne brand. However, her plans take an unexpected turn when she embarks on a romance with a Parisian man who turns out to be the son of the champagne company's founder.
Details about the film's release date and additional cast members are yet to be revealed. Johnson, known for his work on Netflix's Love in the Villa and Love, Guaranteed, is at the helm of this upcoming project. Stephanie Slack and Margret H. Huddleston are producing Champagne Problems for Off Camera Entertainment.
Aside from her role in Champagne Problems, Kelly is also set to appear in the Netflix drama series Ransom Canyon alongside Josh Duhamel. She recently starred in the Lionsgate thriller Blackwater Lane with Dermot Mulroney and has made appearances in popular shows like Euphoria, Titans, and Friday Night Lights.
Netflix has been focusing on romantic comedies as part of its content strategy, with recent releases such as A Family Affair featuring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King, as well as Mother of the Bride starring Brooke Shields, Miranda Cosgrove, and Benjamin Bratt.
