Minjee Lee has faded out of contention with a lacklustre third round at the LPGA Tour's TOTO Japan Classic.

Australia's world No.5 dropped to a share of 41st place with a one-over-par 73 on Saturday as Momoko Ueda continued to hold sway.

At two under, Lee is a dozen shots off the pace after Ueda maintained the lead she's held since Thursday with a third-round 68.

Champion in 2007 and 2011, Ueda is one stroke ahead of Scotland's Gemma Dryburgh, who charged to 13 under with a sizzling round of 65 featuring eight birdies in 13 holes.

Like Lee, Thai world No.1 Atthaya Thitikul also carded a 73 to slip to five under and nine shots adrift of the leader.

Lee's fellow Australian Steph Kyriacou posted a 74 to be tied for 66th at one over the card.
