Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications Eamon Ryan’s mother has died following an accident whilst on a family holiday.
Mary Ryan died unexpectedly whilst on Inisbofin Island off the coast of Galway.
She was airlifted to Galway University Hospital, where she later died on Wednesday morning, according to the Irish Independent.

A death notice on Rip.ie states that Ms Ryan, who lived in Sandycove, Dublin, died “unexpectedly but peacefully”.
It reads: “Mary, beloved wife of the late Bob, loving mother of John, Eamon, Robert and Marion; Sadly missed by her children and their partners, her adored grandchildren Harriet, Lorcan, Séamus, Fintan, Isabella, Jack, Oliver, Ino, Tom, Róise, Sean and Harry, great-grandson George, her sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.”
Ms Ryan will be reposing at her home, with removal on Saturday, August 13, to St Joseph’s Church, Glasthule.
Arriving for 10am Funeral Mass followed by burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.
