Min Woo Lee is relishing the prospect of a shootout with Adam Scott after the pair lit up Royal Queensland to head the Australian PGA Championship field after two rounds.
Lee (66) and Scott (65) will play together on Saturday after finishing 12 and 11 under on Friday in Brisbane.
Scott produced the highlights, hitting the flag with his tee shot to the 292m par-4 14th hole then having his eagle putt lip out.
He also had another eagle approach catch the edge at the 10th and an eagle putt just roll by on the seventh.
Lee was remarkably steady in reply, a birdie on the 15th stealing back the lead then three clutch par saves with some deft touch around the green setting up a high-profile weekend showdown.
"It's amazing; only a few years ago I was dreaming to be in this spot, especially to play with Scotty," the 25-year-old said.
"It seems only like a few years ago I was in the Interstate Series watching him winning the Masters (in 2013).
"It is cool to have him as a friend and play in the final group."
While 43-year-old statesman and former world No.1 Scott has earned a following Lee has his backers too, many more wearing chef's hats and aprons in a nod to his motto, 'Let Him Cook'.
The Perth talent squeezed a Post Malone concert in between his first and second rounds, the American rapper's hit 'Congratulations' blaring as he walked onto the tee at the 17th party hole on Friday.
"That kind of gave me the chills," he said.
"It was unbelievable; my legs were a bit tired and I was a bit anxious about how I'd go today.
"The last five holes seemed like a little bit of a struggle and needed to somehow get my head out of it and make sure I get a good rest tonight."
