Million pound Mersey homes that could change your life

Merseyside is a hotbed of sprawling mansions and luxury penthouses up for grabs - but they'll cost a pretty penny.

From waterside residences, apartments with private lifts and land with permission for an ultra-modern house equipped with its own pool, the ECHO takes a look at what's on offer if you were to scoop the lottery this weekend. Topping the list in terms of price is Windward, set in an enviable location near Caldy Beach with an asking price of £2m.

Offering "breathtaking" Dee Estuary viewsm and surrounded by just nine other properties, it offers privacy in one of the region's most exclusive postcodes. If you fancy putting your own stamp on things, there's an opportunity to build your own Formby mansion for just £2m. Greenloons Farm on Kirklake Road spans about two acres and is located in a woodland setting adjacent to The National Trust Nature Reserve and a short distance away from Formby beach.

Caldy is one of the most affluent areas in Merseyside and has been homes to the likes of former Liverpool and Everton manager Rafa Benitez.

Properties for sale in the suburb had an overall average price of £792,500 over the last year.
