Millie Mackintosh has suggested Meghan Markle 'ghosted' her because she 'wasn't useful' to the Duchess of Sussex anymore.
The Made In Chelsea star, 33, and the Duchess of Sussex, 41, formed a friendship around eight years ago after meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.
Millie and Meghan bonded over their marriage woes – as Meghan was divorced from Trevor Engelson while Millie was married to Professor Green, before they split in 2016.
The pair hung out in London, with Millie sharing her "little black book" of contacts and even had a fun time together in the Cotswolds drinking "rosé and margaritas", according to Millie. But, their friendship wasn't to last.
Millie has now revealed in her podcast Mumlemmas & More that, shortly after it became public knowledge that Meghan was dating Prince Harry, Meghan "ghosted" Millie.
The reality star revealed when Meghan and Harry's romance became public knowledge, Millie reached out to Meghan.
"I messaged her and said 'hey I hope you're OK, thinking of you,' and she sent me this really abrupt message, that was really unlike any of our communication before," Millie said.
She did not disclose what the message she received said, but added that she didn't question Meghan about her relationship with Harry.
Millie "never heard" from Meghan again after the message and suggested the reason the Duchess of Sussex "ghosted" her was because the MIC star "wasn't useful" to Meghan anymore.
She said: "I think I just wasn't useful anymore."
Elsewhere in the podcast, Millie suggested: "My take on it is that, this is my instinct as why it happened at the time, she's like, 'right I'm gonna be royal now, I don't need Millie in my life'.
"What could I offer her at that point? She'd met her prince and I was on a reality show, so she obviously was like – I'm guessing – 'I can't be associated with Made In Chelsea I'm gonna be royal' and just was like, maybe, 'I've gotta cut her dead'. She was on the way up and 'gotta cut her loose', get rid."
Meanwhile, the reality star admitted she would "love" to confront the Duchess of Sussex and hear Meghan's side of the story. She revealed: "Of course there's always two sides to every story so I'd be fascinated to know from her side – I have thought about it a few times and thought: 'I'd love to just sit her down and ask her straight out, 'Why did you ghost me?'
"But, you know there are two sides to every story and, who knows, maybe she's got a different take on it."
Despite the pair no longer being pals, Millie feels she "got off lightly" but still found Meghan's "ghosting" to be "painful". She said: "Looking at it now I think I got off lightly because imagine being involved in that media circus, it must be really difficult.
"I think the reason it was painful as well is because we did get on really well and I honestly do not wish her any bad.
"I look at it and think it's quite funny, but also, I think we all know it hasn't just happened to me."
Millie also suggested: "Maybe she just didn't like me, babe."
