Millie Gibson is Doctor Who's new assistant, with the Coronation Street being revealed in a huge TV exclusive live on Children in Need.
Early on Friday it was announced the BBC would be revealing the identity of the Doctor's latest sidekick during the annual three hour fundraising broadcast and, it was just after 8.30pm that hosts Jason Manford and Mel Giedroyc did the honours as Millie, the young actress for playing Kelly in Corrie, stepped out of the iconic tardis to reveal herself.
As she struggled to compose herself to talk about her huge new TV role in Doctor Who, Millie said: "I can't believe it myself. I've had to keep it that much of a secrecy, this is the first time I've actually believed it.

Asked by comedian Jason how it felt to be joining one of the biggest shows in the world Millie replied: "It's insane, it's insane! I was so honoured that I was even considered for an audition; that was enough for me. I just hope I can make you all happy and fill the boots of all the other companions."
Millie also exclusively revealed that her character will be called Ruby Sunday, adding: "I'm buzzing with that name!"
Millie will join the new Diotor, Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa, who was confirmed to be taking over from Jodie Whittaker in the coveted role - following in the footsteps of Christopher Eccleston, Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant and Tom Baker.
Speaking on landing the part, Ncuti said: "It means a lot to so many people, including myself," adding: "I feel very grateful to have had the baton handed over and I'm going to try to do my best."
