KENNY MILLER reckons there are two Scottish Premiership stars of last season Rangers should consider in the summer transfer window.
The Ibrox hero reckons Ellis Simms and Lewis Ferguson are two potential options for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Simms joined Hearts on loan in January and impressed in the second-half of the season with Robbie Neilson desperate to bring him back to Tynecastle.
But Miller has suggested Rangers could attempt to gazump any deal and offer Simms the chance to head to Ibrox instead.
He told the Sunday Mail: “I really like the look of him. When you see the trouble Rangers had with strikers towards the end of the season, it’s something I’d consider.
“But I’d be surprised if Everton sold him, unless the money was right. It would probably be another loan move.
“He’s not Alfredo Morelos, let’s make that clear. He would have a lot to prove before you put him in that bracket.
“But the physicality he’s got, the running power and the quality of goals he’s scored in that short period at Hearts - he’s someone I think could be interesting."
Ferguson is the only other Scotland-based player Miller has identified as a possible signing for Rangers in the summer.
But even then, the former Rangers striker questioned whether the Aberdeen and Scotland midfielder would force his way into the Ibrox first-team.
With Ryan Jack. Glen Kamara, John Lundstram and Scott Arfield Rangers have quality in the middle of the park and Miller is unsure if Ferguson would pip them to a starting spot.
He said: “Even in a really poor season for Aberdeen, he was the one player who kept a decent level of consistency.
“In terms of players Rangers could go for in Scotland after Souttar - Simms and Ferguson would potentially be the two for me because they’re at a really good age.”
