Milford Haven waterfront hotel opens doors creating 40 new jobs

A new waterfront hotel in West Wales has opened creating 40 new jobs.

The Tŷ Hotel Milford Waterfront has opened in the centre of the tourist development, Milford Waterfront, creating 40 permanent operational jobs and more in the supply chain.

The 46,000 sq ft building features 100 bedrooms over four floors with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views overlooking Milford Marina.

Owned by the Port of Milford Haven, the Tŷ Hotel Milford Waterfront will be operated by The Celtic Collection team who also run the Celtic Manor Resort.

Part of a multi-million pound regeneration project led by the Port, the hotel will feature a brasserie restaurant and bar, called dulse, fitness suite and private dining room and hopes to attract new tourists to Milford Haven and Pembrokeshire.

Two local hospitality managers have been appointed senior roles to run the new hotel.

Adrian Andrews has taken the role of hotel manager, Simon Crockford will be executive head chef of the hotel restaurant.

Mr Andrews said: “As the hotel has taken shape, we’ve been blown away by the positive reaction from the local area. I’m excited about what this hotel will bring to Milford Haven, both for the community and for business.”

Chief executive at the Port of Milford Haven Andy Jones said: “The new Tŷ Hotel is great news for Pembrokeshire and is momentous for Milford Waterfront, marking the next phase in our hospitality and tourism strategy.”

He added: “An investment of this kind creates a ripple effect, building even greater positivity among local businesses and the local community. We are a proud Pembrokeshire business and are delighted to have brought this high-quality investment to the area in partnership with The Celtic Collection.”

Council member and former Mayor of Milford Haven Eric Harries said: “As a native of Milford Haven, having been in local government for many years, I welcome with open arms the investment that’s been made in the town with the new Tŷ Hotel Milford Waterfront. It is my sincerest wish that it will be a huge success and assist our town in economic recovery.”
