Milford Haven hotel celebrates one year trading success

A hotel in west Wales has welcomed more than 35,000 guests and created 60 jobs since it first opened 12 months ago. The Tŷ Hotel Milford Waterfront opened in the centre of the tourist development, Milford Waterfront, in April last year.

The 46,000 sq ft building features 100 bedrooms over four floors with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views overlooking Milford Marina. It is owned by the Port of Milford Haven and operated by The Celtic Collection team who also run the Celtic Manor Resort.

Part of a multi-million pound regeneration project led by the Port, the hotel features a brasserie restaurant and bar, called Dulse, fitness suite and private dining room.

One year since opening, the hotel has had more than 35,000 guests and created 60 jobs with more supported in the supply chain. It was also awarded a four-star grading within weeks of opening.

In terms of trading performance, the hotel has said it has exceeded expectations. School holidays were predicted to be busy with average occupancy peaking at 86% for the month of August, but the amount of business generated year-round by the Port of Milford Haven has produced a constant flow of corporate travellers and visitors outside of the peak seasons.

Hotel manager Adrian Andrews said: “We’re delighted to celebrate our first year in beautiful Milford Haven. We’ve made some very special memories, but our success would not have been possible without the support of the local community, and the dedication of our team, who always strive to ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience.

“I am proud to call Pembrokeshire home. It’s such a beautiful part of the world, but for a long time, Milford Haven was something of a hidden gem. It’s been brilliant to shine a light on the area as a vibrant tourism destination. With its unique coastline, rich history, fantastic shops and restaurants, outdoor activities, and welcoming people, there really is something for everyone.”
