Miley Cyrus has married her long-time boyfriend Liam Hemsworth in a secret ceremony in her hometown of Nashville.
For the ceremony, which took place on 23 December, the pop singer wore a beautiful off-the-shoulder gown by British designer Vivienne Westwood.
Cyrus shared the news with her fans three days later on Instagram, where she has 77.5m followers, by uploading a series of black and white photographs of her and her new husband at the wedding.
The first is a selfie, which shows the pair kissing and is captioned, “This is probably our one – millionth kiss ....”
This was followed by two full-length snaps of the couple embracing, which reveal the back of Cyrus’ gown that appears to have been made from the ivory silk fabric that Westwood’s bridal designs are known for.
The third and final image, which Cyrus also tweeted, is captioned “10 years later…”.
The couple met in 2008 while filming The Last Song, an adaptation of the novel written by Nicholas Sparks.
Sparks offered his congratulations to the couple on Twitter, writing, “this makes me so happy” in response to Cyrus’ post.
Producer Mark Ronson, with whom Cyrus has just released a song, also congratulated the couple by posting a video of himself singing along to a version of “here comes the Bride” while playing the guitar.
But Cyrus and Hemsworth’s relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing. They got engaged in 2012 but broke up a year later before rekindling their romance in 2015.
Of the breakup, Cyrus explained she “needed go change so much”, telling Billboard that the duo had to “re-fall for each other”.
Cyrus tagged Ronson in an Instagram story from the wedding, offering fans a frontal view of her gown.
Westwood’s designs are characterised by their flattering fits and luxurious materials, making them highly sought-after by brides-to-be.
Her bridal collection was made famous in the first Sex and the City (SATC) film, which saw protagonist Carrie Bradshaw wear a bespoke wedding gown by Westwood that acquired cult status thanks to its dramatic, cloud-like silhouette and beautiful corset top.
Perhaps this is what inspired Cyrus, who had a cameo role in the SATC sequel, to choose Westwood to design her wedding gown.
The simple fabric and classic fit marks a significant change from the outlandish outfits the singer has worn in the past – and there wasn’t a wrecking ball in sight.
