Miley Cyrus recently celebrated a significant milestone with her hit single “Flowers” as it marked one year on the Hot 100 chart. The singer-songwriter, who had a successful night at the 2024 Grammys, clinching two awards for the track, saw “Flowers” maintain its presence on the chart for a full 52 weeks.
Despite slipping to No. 17 from its previous position at No. 10, “Flowers” continued to resonate with audiences following Cyrus' Grammy wins and her performance of the song during the awards show. This resurgence propelled the track back into the top 10, a feat it hadn't achieved in months.
Prior to “Flowers,” Cyrus' longest-charting hit on the Hot 100 was “Wrecking Ball,” her only other No. 1 single, which spent 32 weeks on the chart, including three weeks at the top spot over a decade ago.
“Flowers” made an impressive debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in January 2023, setting the stage for a successful year for Cyrus. The song went on to dominate the chart, spending a total of eight weeks at the summit, solidifying its status as her biggest hit to date.
At the 2024 Grammys, Cyrus scooped up two awards for “Flowers” – Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year. The track was also nominated for Song of the Year, an honor that ultimately went to Billie Eilish for her single “What Was I Made For?” from the movie Barbie. The success of “Flowers” also contributed to the recognition of the album it belongs to, 'Endless Summer Vacation,' which received nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year.
