A mini Trader Joe's tote bag that went viral on social media earlier this year and has been sold out for months was back in stock as of September 18, causing extremely long lines to form outside the grocery store in Southern California.
Footage filmed outside a TJ location in the Santa Clarita Valley and posted on Instagram shows a mile-long line of customers waiting to enter the store for a chance to purchase one of the limited edition totes.
The $3 bags became so popular that some third-party retailers like eBay were selling them for $1,000 per piece back in March, according to a Fox 8 report.
While that listing might not be up anymore, there are countless others that are currently re-selling the tote for hundreds of dollars.
A current eBay listing shows four totes, in all four colors, for sale for $500. Another listing has the full set for $480. The totes -- a miniature version of TJ's iconic bag -- come in navy, green, red, and yellow.
A spokesperson for Trader Joe's said in a statement: "The totes are a limited product rather than an everyday product at this time."
Supplies are not expected to last very long, with many stores already reporting to be sold out in every color.
