Mikey Devlin says the quality at Hibs as been evident from day one as he revealed he is 'absolutely thrilled' to have landed his latest opportunity.
Lee Johnson has swooped to hand the stopper a contract until the end of the season to ease his defensive concerns after a successful trial period. The former Aberdeen and Hamilton man was at Fleetwood Town with ex-Hibee and Celtic hero Scott Brown but will now ply his trade at Easter Road until at least the summer.
The 29-year-old says he is enjoying his football once again and has loved every single day at training so far. He knows he has plenty of hard work to put in on the pitch to get up to speed and hit his own standards, but it is something he is ready to give his all. Speaking to the Hibs official website, he said: “A couple of weeks ago I didn’t quite anticipate getting an opportunity from a club like Hibs.

“Over the last week or so I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in training and I’m absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to be at a club like Hibs. I’m delighted.
“The last week has been great. I actually feel like I’ve been enjoying my football again, which is quite refreshing, having left Fleetwood a few weeks prior to that.
“Because I know a few of the boys, and I’ve played against a lot of them, it made it that much easier to settle in. There’s a good group here, guys like Chris Cadden, so in terms of integrating with the squad it’s been great, and I enjoy coming in every day.”
He continued: “You see early on when you’re in the training sessions here that the standard is very high. The standards that the manager has set are being met by the players and the players are driving each other on.
“There’s good competition for places in the squad, I think that’s what the manager is trying to get and what a club like Hibs needs to compete at the top end of the table.
“From day one the quality has been evident, and the coaching has been brilliant. All the coaches have their input, the demands are there, and everyone knows his philosophy and how he’s trying to do things.
“I’ve loved every day at training, I know I’ve still got work to do to get myself up to speed and hit my own standards. I’ve loved every aspect of being in so far.”
