Mikel Arteta told players queuing up to complete Arsenal transfer amid Premier League title tilt

After years of underachievement and disappointment in the Premier League, things are starting to look up for Arsenal. Top four was the aim for Gunners fans at the start of the season after they agonisingly missed out on a Champions League spot last term at the hands of Tottenham.

Arsenal's start to the season has got fans dreaming of a title charge, with confidence growing among pundits and Premier League managers that they may be able to challenge Manchester City at the top of the table. However, just finishing in the top four could prove to be a huge boost for Arsenal - something they haven't done since the 2015/16 season.

Not only would finishing in the top four give Arsenal Champions League football, but it could completely change their plans in the transfer market next summer. For the last six seasons, Arsenal haven't been playing in Europe's elite competition, meaning they have likely missed out on targets who have opted to join clubs who are in the Champions League.

A return to playing Champions League football could allow Arsenal to sign a different calibre of player to what they've been used to over the last six years - and according to Ian Wright, there are players 'waiting' to join the Gunners should they finish in the top four. It's unknown which players are 'waiting' for a move to the Emirates Stadium should Arsenal qualify for the Champions League, but they have recently been linked with moves for the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Lovro Majer.

"Whatever happens off the back of this season if Arsenal do get in the top four, with the players that I know that are probably waiting - I can't say anything - waiting for Arsenal to get in the Champions League," said Wright on Premier League Productions.

"This season will be a massive learning curve for this team. That's the least we can get out of it. I can't say too much, it's only eight games, but there are players waiting to come if Arsenal finishes in the Champions League."
