Marseille boss Igor Tudor believes that Arsenal loanee Nuno Tavares could make a switch to Manchester City, Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future. The huge claim comes as the Portuguese defender impresses on loan with French side Marseille, where he has spent the season.
Tavares joined the Gunners last campaign, where he had a more important role than many had anticipated after filling in for the injury concerns of Kieran Tierney. While he showed glimpses of his ability, it seemed too soon for the youngster as he struggled to impose himself into the side.
After a tough season, Tavares was sent on loan as Oleksandr Zinchenko joined the club to earn the role as left-back. Discussing the decision last summer, Mikel Arteta said: "It’s announced it’s official and for Nuno’s development I think it’s going to be really important."

"Obviously we have recruited Oleks [Zinchenko] in that position and we have Kieran as well which is two really really good and strong players in that position. We believe Nuno’s best solution was to do that."
The 23-year-old has been given 24 appearances in Ligue 1 with Marseille, scoring six goals in that time as question marks are raised over his defending amid impressing with his attacking attributes. It has led head coach Tudor to claim that a big move could be on the horizon for Tavares.
"He’s still a young player but he has fantastic physical capacities. He’s got an outstanding ability to run. He could play at Real, at Barcelona, at Manchester City… he still needs to grow and progress, we talk a lot to him."
It remains to be seen exactly how the defender will fit into the project at Arsenal, if at all after the summer transfer window. However, there's clearly still the potential that the side saw when signing him, which could lead to a handy transfer windfall at the very least.
