Mikel Arteta has told his side they need to “kill opponents”, with the team missing a clinical edge in front of goal in recent weeks.
It comes after Arsenal’s dip in form, losing to Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool, leaving a top four finish as the only thing up for grabs for the Gunners for the remainder of the season.
Goal scoring in particular has been a problem for Arteta and his men, scoring just once in their past four outings with two red cards from those games too.
It will be a place for improvement when they host Burnley on Sunday, with Sean Dyche used to setting up his side in a way that is very tough to break down.
Speaking to the official Arsenal website, Arteta has claimed his side need to improve on taking their chances: “[We should focus on] controlling the things that we can control. We cannot win football matches with 10 players, it's extremely difficult.”
The Gunners have fallen foul recently to receiving red cards, becoming the side to have picked up the most by some distance since Arteta took charge.
He continued: "We know that and when we have moments, we have to kill the opponents and it's not been the case in recent matches and we have had some big performances, but we did not get results.
"Results are part of the game, against Forest is a different story. The rest of the games there is very little to tell the team but we have to find different ways or a different way to end up winning and getting the points."
Arsenal will certainly have to be on their game when Burnley make the trip to London, knowing they are in desperate need of three points.
Dyche’s side are renowned for their low-block that make it difficult for opponents to break through, so the Gunners will have to take their chances when given them.
