Arsenal’s attack is certainly an area that Mikel Arteta will want to strengthen this summer. Whilst the Gunners do boast a wealth of talent in forward areas more depth and quality will be needed to cope with their return to the European stage.
The Europa League may not be the competition they aspired to be in but the extra fixtures could hamper the significant progress made under Arteta if the club fail to add quality to their squad. Arsenal will have been boosted by the news that Eddie Nketiah is poised to sign a new contract, but further additions in forward areas will be needed in order to compete on domestic and continental fronts.
One player that has consistently been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium is Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling. The 27-year-old has become a somewhat peripheral figure at the Etihad and is believed to be eying a move away from the Premier League champions.

Despite an increasingly marginal role under Pep Guardiola, Sterling ended the season with 17 goals and nine assists in all competitions. The England star is in the final year of his contract and is yet to agree terms on a new deal, meaning that City are likely to cash in this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.
Sterling primarily operates on the left-wing, cutting in on his right foot. However, he is also capable of playing on the right and as a central striker offering flexibility, cover and competition in a number of different positions.
With that said, is there a place for the City winger in Arteta's starting XI? Here, we take a look at how Arsenal could line up next season with Sterling in the side:
