Mikel Arteta will soon be experiencing his fifth transfer deadline day as Arsenal boss.
But this is the first time during his reign that he will have reached this stage of a transfer window without adding to his first-team squad in some form.
Since being appointed in December 2019, the Spaniard has signed 14 new players for the north London outfit whether it be a loan or permanent deal in a transfer spree totaling around £226m.
Therefore, the current Arsenal first-team squad is very different to the one Arteta inherited from fellow Spaniard Unai Emery as the likes of Mesut Ozil, David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Joe Willock have all left permanently.
Now the question is will there be more changes to the Gunners' squad before the window closes on the 31st?
Rumours suggest manager Arteta still is looking to improve his first-team squad and has been linked with moves for a new central midfielder and striker.
Amid talk of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Alexander Isak and Ruben Neves making the move to the Emirates Stadium in the coming hours, if Arsenal can pull off at least two of those deals, their top-four chances will remain intact.
But what are the chances of the Gunners being active all the way up until 11pm Monday?
Well, transfer deadline day is always a busy one as the Spaniard can confirm after experiencing as many as four of them during his time in charge of Arsenal.
As a result, we've taken a look at the business Arteta has done on previous deadline days to see what it can tell us about what's in store for Arsenal on January 31.
January 31, 2020
In: Cedric (loan)
Out : None
Very quiet first deadline day for Arteta as most of the business was done earlier in the window leaving him to complete a loan deal for Cedric Soares.
October 5, 2020
In: Thomas Partey (£45m)
Out: Matteo Guendouzi (loan to Hertha Berlin), Lucas Torreira (loan to Atletico Madrid)
The impact Covid-19 had on the 2019/20 season meant that summer's transfer window opened whilst the campaign was still in play and remained open for the first month of the following season, thus giving clubs extra time to get deals done.
Arsenal left it very late to conclude their business by activating Thomas Partey's £45m release clause at Atletico Madrid in the final hours whilst allowing Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira to leave on loan.
Furthermore, there was activity regarding the U23's with Nikolaj Moller and Joel Ideho joining, whilst Daniel Ballard left on loan.

In: None
Out: Ainsley Maitland-Niles (loan to West Brom), Joe Willock (loan to Newcastle United), Shkodran Mustafi (Free to Schalke)
Having signed Mat Ryan and Martin Odegaard on loan ahead of deadline day, it meant Arteta and Edu could focus on trimming the first-team squad even further after mutually terminating the contracts of Sokratis and Mesut Ozil.
Shkodran Mustafi was allowed to join Schalke on a free after agreeing to the same terms as Sokratis and Ozil, whilst Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock joined West Brom and Newcastle United on loan respectively.
U23's trio Joseph Olowu, Zech Medley and Matt Smith completed the outgoings on what was a busy deadline day.
August 31, 2021
In: Takehiro Tomiyasu (£18m)
Out: Hector Bellerin (loan to Real Betis), Reiss Nelson (loan to Feyenoord), Runar Alex Runarsson (loan to OH Leuven)
Once again, most of Arsenal's deals were completed before deadline day last summer as Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Benjamin White, Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale had all made at least one appearance for the club before August 31.
Meanwhile, the likes of William Saliba, Torreira, and several U23 players had completed loan moves before deadline day, whilst Joe Willock joined Newcastle United for £25m and Willian departed on a free transfer.
Then on deadline day, the Gunners announced the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu as well as the departures of Hector Bellerin, Reiss Nelson and Runar Alex Runarsson.
U23's defender Jonathan Dinzeyi was also part of the outgoings as he joined Carlisle United on loan.
What it tells us?
It's almost safe to say with a certain degree of confidence that it won't be a quiet deadline day for Arsenal.
In fact, Arteta has confirmed he is still looking to add to his squad before the window slams shut.
"We have to make the right decisions with players that we believe are really going to help us, and try to bring as well the ones that are going to take us to the next level," he said. "Players that come here it has to be to take us to the next level.
"We already have a level and we want to see much better standards than we already have. That’s the standard we want to recruit."
In conclusion, history tells us that on deadline day, Arteta has completed 11 deals for first-team players, nine of which have been for those in need of minutes and that would suggest that there could be a few announcements regarding outgoings on Monday - most likely loan moves.
But when taking into consideration that Calum Chambers, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sead Kolasinac, Pablo Mari and Folarin Balogun have already left, the only realistic first-team departures left are Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
So maybe the plan will be to focus on incomings rather than outgoings for a change.
Furthermore, given Arteta has signed a player on three of the four deadline days he has experienced, maybe Arsenal supporters can expect at least one more signing. Perhaps Isak or a midfielder will join?
