Mikel Arteta reveals key factor in crushing Arsenal win over Nottingham Forest

Mikel Arteta has delivered his verdict on Arsenal's humbling of Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

The Premier League leaders were 5-0 winners as Forest struggled to match their quality, despite beating Liverpool at the City Ground last time out.

Arsenal had come from a 2-0 European defeat in mid-week and were looking to respond to Manchester City's victory at Leicester on Saturday that sent them briefly to the top of the Premier League table. And Arteta insisted his side delivered just what was asked of them, as Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson (x2), Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard shared the goals.

"It was great. We certainly have been creating the chances to score," Arteta said post-match. "We have not been hitting the target enough and we have discussed that all week.

"Today the individual talent made the difference. We scored some fantastic goals. And they shared the goals, which I think is important as well."

The Gunners boss also highlighted the importance of responding to dropped points after their Europa League defeat to PSV in mid-week. "Big teams have to respond as quickly as possible, he said, before adding: "We did that after the disappointment of Thursday night.

"You don’t have time. We had one half-training session, and we had to be ready — not only physically but mentally - against a team that beat Liverpool and the pressure was on. We need to get used to that."
