Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta can help solve Stan Kroenke's £504million problem as the Gunners look to challenge for domestic and European trophies this season.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League by four points just a quarter-way through the season, but fans are dreaming of a potential title challenge after losing just one game in all competitions so far this term. The Gunners can qualify for the Europa League knockout rounds with a positive result against PSV Eindhoven tonight with their title clash against Manchester City postponed for a later date.
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is facing a massive payout worth $571million (£504million) because NFL owners are finally expected to approve a resolution over the Rams' relocation from St. Louis to Los Angeles. It is hardly the best news for the Gunners ahead of the January transfer window in which Arteta will be hoping to reinforce his squad after the World Cup break to stand the best chance of lifting silverware come the end of the campaign.

Arteta now has a squad capable of challenging at the top of the Premier League, as shown with their impressive wins in the North London Derby over Tottenham and the dramatic 3-2 victory against Liverpool in recent weeks. Arsenal have been able to rotate their squad and maintain their performance levels in the Europa League as they continue their journey to return to the UEFA Champions League.
Europe's elite club competition offers significant financial benefits as well as the opportunity to compete against the biggest teams in club football. Since Arteta's arrival, the Gunners have been able to move on players on big money, including the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Willian.
Arsenal's priority at present is securing the long-term futures of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba as they look to maintain the key players at the core of Arteta's squad. The arrivals of Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus in the summer transfer window have not only added quality but also depth in key areas, although midfield is arguably the weakest point of the Gunners' squad now.
Arsenal failed to secure a deal for Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz on Deadline Day after Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny sustained injuries, and a deal for the Brazilian now looks to be over after he signed a new deal at Villa Park. A left-sided defender and central midfielder are thought to still be two key areas Arteta is keen to strengthen, with Evan Ndicka and Youri Tielemans continuing to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Kroenkes have arguably seen a greater return of investment in their other sporting ventures with the LA Rams and the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) over the past few years, with both reaching the pinnacle of their sports, winning the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup, respectively. This could be set to change with Arsenal now emerging as Premier League title challengers and looking strong in the Europa League, as Arteta looks to lead his players to a historic season and return to success.
