Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has already hailed the ‘incredible future’ ahead of Gabriel Magalhaes as the Gunners reportedly consider rewarding the defender with a new contract. The Brazilian has been with the north London outfit since a 2020 switch from French side Lille and he has emerged as a key player for the club.
The 24-year-old has made 60 appearances in all competitions thus far for Arsenal and has gone on to establish himself as one of Arteta ’s first names on the teamsheet. The ex-Dinamo Zagreb star has continued his development in earnest this season by forging an excellent partnership with summer signing Ben White.
His displays have been so good in north London that it is reported that he could be in line for a new deal at the Emirates Stadium. CBS Sports have suggested that the Gunners are ‘considering’ offering Gabriel a fresh deal, whilst they also expect to open dialogue sooner rather than later with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba.

One man that will certainly be delighted at the news of Gabriel ’s potentially extended stay in north London will be current manager Arteta. The Spaniard has previously praised the abilities of the defender and also predicted a promising future for the Brazilian international.
Speaking in September last year, he said: “We know that he’s a player with an incredible future and is already giving us a lot. He has adapted really well to the league. That’s why we signed him.
“He is stepping in, his language is much better and he can coach and communicate much better with his teammates. He understands what we want and I don’t think it gets much harder than playing here in the Premier League.”
Despite the prospect of a new deal, there appears to be little scramble for Gabriel to commit to fresh terms. His current Arsenal contract is set to run until the summer of 2025.
