Arsenal's board are preparing to back Mikel Arteta with significant January funding to help the Gunners sustain their early title challenge. The Arsenal manager was provided with close to £150million to spend in the summer and the Gunners boss is set to receive more money to add quality depth to his squad.
After 11 Premier League games, Arsenal sit at the top of the table with nine wins, one draw and one defeat placing them two points ahead of Manchester City. At the weekend, Arteta's side dropped points away to Southampton after a second-half strike from Stuart Armstrong cancelled out Granit Xhaka's early opener.
In their last two league games against Southampton and Leeds, Arsenal have struggled to dominate games the way they were doing in the early part of the season with Arteta often needing to rely on the same core group of players in two competitions, but he is set to receive some assistance in January from Stan Kroenke, who, according to The Sun, will inject another £50million into the club to help with squad burnout.

Arteta is believed to be interested in bringing in two players in January to help freshen up his squad as the Gunners prepare to compete in at least three competitions, with the mid-season World Cup creating a brutal fixture list both before and after the tournament.
The report states that Arteta is aiming to re-ignite his interest in Palmeiras midfielder Danilo after seeing two deadline day bids rejected for the Brazilian. The deal would likely cost the club around £26million.
Arsenal have also targeted Villareal forward Yeremy Pino as a potential signing in a deal that could cost the club around £25million. The Spanish club have already lost their manager to the Premier League with former Arsenal boss Unai Emery, the coach who handed Yeremy his professional debut, becoming Aston Villa manager earlier this week, and the young Spaniard could also be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk is also a name that has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium after several impressive performances in the Champions League, including an eye-catching display at Celtic Park which saw him score his third goal in this season's competition.
