The Gunners are keen to secure a deal for the Serbian in the current window are willing to break the bank to ensure that their desired outcome becomes a reality.
And reports in Italy claim Arsenal have had a £66million offer for the striker accepted by Fiorentina.
Arteta insists there is no fresh news in regards to arrivals, but reiterated the club are doing everything in their power to make sure their plan of adding quality reinforcements comes to fruition.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's potential exit to Saudi Arabia could also pave the way for Vlahovic's arrival as Arsenal mull over an offer from Al Nassr.
The Riyadh-based club have proposed to take the out of favour striker on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy for £7million in the summer, according to CBS Sports.
Arsenal are looking to part ways with Aubameyang after he was stripped of the captaincy and are keen to get his £250,000-a-week salary off the wage bill.
As Arsenal's top earner, freeing up those funds would certainly help the north Londoners in their pursuit of Vlahovic.
Al Nassr doesn't seem to be put off by the fact Aubamyeang left Gabon's Africa Cup of Nations squad after scans revealed "heart lesions" following a bout of Covid.
The forward missed his nation's match with Ghana on Friday after testing positive on arrival in Cameroon on January 6.
Aubameyang has returned to the Emirates to undergo further medical check but Arteta insists Gabon didn't give Arsenal any clarity over the player's condition.
He added: "Yeah, he’s in London and going through some examinations because we haven’t had any clarity from the Gabon national team about the reasons why he came back.
"So, obviously, it’s our obligation to make sure he’s safe and in good condition and not any issues related to that and try to avoid any suggestion that that’s the case because so far historically with everything we’ve done with the player he’s never had an issue. So hopefully that’s the case.
"That’s the situation that we have. He contracted Covid and the national team decided to bring him back here. That’s where we are. Let’s do the right step, let’s do the right examinations and make sure the player’s health is in the best condition. We will see what happens."
