Mikel Arteta can get Fabio Vieira to replicate Luis Diaz partnership with Bukayo Saka at Arsenal

As I've found myself delving into various videos and articles to find out more about Fabio Vieira, I noticed more than just his impressive technical ability and it could be something that helps take his game to another level.

football.london understands Arsenal are close to securing the services of the 22-year-old midfielder in a deal worth around £34m. Vieira is believed to be in London to complete his medical and other remaining processes.

Known for his composure on the ball, tricky feet and passing abilities, it's clear to see what Vieira will offer Mikel Arteta's squad, but it is also his sharp link-up play with former teammates that makes this move exciting.

In the build-up to multiple FC Porto goals and attacks last season, Vieira played a crucial part as he looked to split the opposition's defence in half while progressing towards their 18-yard box. He had good chemistry with Luis Diaz, in particular, who would often look to make runs in behind before Vieira put him through on goal.

Vieira could find anyone due to his pinpoint pass accuracy, enabling him to build various attacks from different positions. Mehdi Taremi is another example, the striker is known for his ability in the air meaning Vieira would look to deliver crosses from wide positions as much as possible and more often than not, it paid off.

There's a reason why the Portugal U21 international racked up 16 assists despite not starting every week, and it is his vision, sharpness and quick thinking that emerged as a key factor behind it.

When you look at the quality that will surround Vieira at Arsenal, it's easy to imagine him having an absolute field day. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both possess explosive pace and composure in front of goal, they can also be swift with their decision making which can kickstart fast progressive football.

Martin Odegaard is someone else who can slot in perfectly alongside him, with the Norwegian a natural when it comes to enthralling passages of play. Meanwhile, transfer target Gabriel Jesus will likely be another beneficiary if he arrives with Vieira.

Although the Manchester City forward isn't known for his aerial threat like Taremi, he relies on receiving the ball into his feet before unleashing a shot at goal. Because of his awareness and positioning, there's no reason why he can't form a really dangerous partnership with the midfielder.
