Ferran Torres is once again on Arsenal's radar as Edu looks to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad in the January transfer window.
The Barcelona star has struggled at the Camp Nou since completing a move away from Manchester City last January. The 22-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish giants this season, contributing to six goals.
Now, reports in Spain suggest Barca boss Xavi has 'lost faith' in the forward. The Gunners are apparently considering a fresh approach for Torres, having previously been interested in the Spaniard due to Arteta's links with City.

Following the injury to Gabriel Jesus, who picked up a knee injury with Brazil at the World Cup, Arsenal are currently somewhat light in the forward areas and football.london understands the Gunners are in the market for a winger in January. Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Marquinhos are Arteta's current options and signing Torres would increase the north Londoners' strength in depth.
If Arsenal were to complete a deal for Torres it would mean the former Man City star would come face-to-face with his former boss Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard was a big fan of the "exceptional" forward and wanted to keep him at the club.
"I would say the last season Ferran played was exceptional," Guardiola said back in August 2021, as per Daily Mirror. “He is a good finisher, he is so young. Man City made an incredible job buying him, a player who can play in three positions.
"He is an incredibly good finisher, the goal against Norwich that was disallowed the finishing was good. We are incredibly pleased with his movement his work ethic with many things."
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Torres completes a move to Emirates Stadium in January, especially with Edu reportedly prioritising a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk. But if Guardiola's comments are anything to go by, Arsenal would be getting an extremely talented player if a deal were to be completed.
