The Tennessee Titans got their butts whooped on national television in the Week 2 contest against the Buffalo Bills — and head coach Mike Vrabel wasn’t afraid to admit it following the game.
Vrabel straight out said the Titans got their “asses kicked,” and he couldn’t be more accurate with his words. The Titans were simply no match for the Bills in any phase of the game en route to an embarrassing 41-7 loss.
“Playing and play-calling go hand in hand. There’s always going to be some plays out there as a player that you wish you had back, there’s always going to be calls as a play-caller that you wish you had back,” Vrabel said, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “It’s not going to be about one person, but we got our asses kicked, plain and simple. They outcoached us, they outplayed us and that’s the definition of it. So, we’re going to get back to work and we’re going to figure out how to win a football game.”
Vrabel just barely stopped short of his “we need to play better, coach better” mantra that he always pulls out after losses, something Titans fans are sick of hearing.
Heads should roll after this one, but we wouldn’t bet on it with a head coach who is often too hard-headed to make significant changes when it’s clearly obvious they are necessary.
