The Cleveland Browns hired Mike Vrabel for a year as a consultant after the Tennessee Titans fired him. Just one year later, he has landed another head coaching gig.
Just as it was rumored to have been on Saturday evening, Vrabel has officially been hired by the team where he spent most of his playing career: the New England Patriots. After firing head coach-in-waiting Jerod Mayo after just one season, the Patriots wasted no time bringing on Vrabel as their next head coach.
As a player in New England, Vrabel won three Super Bowls, made three Pro Bowls, and was named as an All-Pro once. This is now quite the homecoming for the former Patriot legend.
Another thing for the Browns and their fans to watch is what happens next with current tight ends coach Tommy Rees. He has interviewed internally for the Browns’ offensive coordinator vacancy, but it has been rumored that Vrabel wants him as his offensive coordinator as well.
