Mike Tyson-Jake Paul and Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano card postponed until November

SEATTLE - Against all odds, Most Valuable Promotions was able to rescue its biggest card of the year despite major hurdles. The highly anticipated heavyweight fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson and the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano was rescheduled for Friday, November 15.

Most Valuable Promotions, founded by Jake Paul, announced that it had moved the fight after Tyson suffered a health scare. Just a few weeks ago, Tyson presented symptoms of nausea and dizziness as he was traveling from Miami, Florida to Los Angeles, California. According to his representatives, the issue had been "due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing."

Tyson, who retired from professional boxing in 2005 with a record of 50-6 and 44 knockouts, hasn't won a fight since February 2003 and will be 59 years of age by the time he faces Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

"We appreciate the outstanding dedication, collaboration, and flexibility of our partners at Netflix and AT&T Stadium. Paul vs. Tyson is the most cross generational sporting event in history, and we are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix. We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come," said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions.

"Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly. I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties," said Mike Tyson. He also added that, despite the fight having a new date, the result will remain the same as he plans to knockout Paul in November.

The fight will be contested over eight two-minute rounds with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves.

This has also created a postponement of the championship rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in women's boxing according to The Ring Magazine's rankings.

Both fighters faced each other in April of 2022 for the undisputed lightweight championship in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden. It was the first time in the venue's history that a women's fight was the headline card.

After losing to Taylor, "The Real Deal" Serrano returned to featherweight where she unified all the major titles and won The Ring championship. Their second fight will be for the undisputed super lightweight championship held by Taylor since her victory over Serrano in 2022.

Serrano, who will be 36 years of age by the time she squares off against Taylor in Arlington, is the only woman to win championships in more than four weight classes and has held a record nine major world titles across seven weight classes.
