Mike Tyson believes that just 30 days of training will be enough to get him back in boxing shape for a return to the ring this year.
The legendary former world heavyweight champion made his comeback in November 2020 against Roy Jones Jr at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and has teased another bout this year. And he says that it will take just a month for him to be ready to go again, despite a lengthy lay-off from action.
At 55-years-old, Tyson's fighting options are likely limited to exhibitions and celebrity bouts, with both Paul brothers; Jake and Logan, being touted as possible opponents. "I'll beat their f***ing ass, I'm coming straight at 'em," he told UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya during an episode of his podcast Hot Boxin'.
"I'm not going to underestimate them either but I'm going to be in shape, that's the thing you've got to do is be in shape. I think 30 days of boxing I could fight anybody, 30 days of boxing every day. If I'm boxing every day in the gym I don't have to worry about my diet, I'll eat whatever I want."
Tyson has stayed in good shape since deciding he would return in 2020. Despite previously claiming that he was retired for good from the sport, he is flirting with the possibility of a mega-money comeback bout against either a Paul brother or another older heavyweight from the past.
Evander Holyfield returned to the ring last year, but likely won't be back again after being viciously stopped within a round by Vitor Belfort. Tyson was also called out by his last professional opponent Kevin McBride, but he too has seemingly but his ring return on hold for the time being.
Tyson has demanded major money for a fight with one of the Pauls, with Jake claiming that the event could make as much as $300million between the fighters. "I joke with my friends about it," Paul said during an appearance on The Journey podcast. "I'm like I'll start eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts, move up to heavyweight and fight Mike Tyson.

"That would actually excite me and that's a $200-300m event. So Mike, if you're watching this let's have some fun. New school vs old school and I think that's something that the fans would want to see."
But Tyson hasn't seemed convinced, saying: "I ain’t know nothing about it. Listen, I’ve been smoking with [Jake] forever, I did some shrooms with him as well. But I’ve never heard this.
“I was with him in St Barts not too long ago partying and he never told me this. I’ve never heard this from nobody, I’ve just heard this from you guys. We got to get some more man s***, blue-eyed, blonde hair, that s*** is very expensive, we need to get some more money, man. Hey, I ain’t got no f****** money. So where’s the f****** contract?"
