Mike Tyson addresses late health fears ahead of Jake Paul showdown

Mike Tyson has delivered an update on his health as he prepares to return to the boxing ring to face Jake Paul in his first professional fight in almost two decades.

'Iron Mike' and YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul are set to face off on Friday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington in Texas, which is home of the Dallas Cowboys, in a boxing event live-streamed on Netflix.

The fight has been months in the making, having first been announced in March for a July date, only for Tyson, 58, is suffer a bleeding ulcer weeks before the bout to force a postponement.

The rearranged date is now just days away and Tyson has moved to allay fan fears over his health as he prepares to take on a fighter 31 years his junior.

“Thank you very much for being concerned," he said. But I am fighting.

"I'm going to be okay… I was a different person [when I last fought professionally in 2005]. I was using narcotics and alcohol back then. I’m not that person anymore.

"I see a better picture of myself. I see light. I see the world from a different perspective now."
