Mike Tindall lifts lid on royals' 'cousins' lunch' at Jubilee after Meghan and Harry visit

Mike Tindall is officially back at work after keeping many royal fans entertained during the Platinum Jubilee.

His cheeky ongoings during the celebrations left people in stitches - as he shared photos of himself trying on his wife Zara's fascinators and compared her outfit to Starbursts.

The Rugby star, 43, is married to Princess Anne's daughter Zara, and attended all the major royal events over the past few days.

Now he's lifted the lid on a lunch featuring many of the royal family that occurred during the first day of the Queen's celebrations.

Appearing on his podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, Mike named it one of the highlights of the four-day celebration.

Asked about the Jubilee, he said: "Lovely weekend. It was outstanding to be fair, it was just great to be a part of.”

Quizzed about the most special moments, he revealed: "We had a good cousin’s lunch on Thursday, that was a highlight.

"Outside of that, the concert was very very cool. Going for the Derby for the first time ever was a unique experience and one that I enjoyed."

Thursday was the first day of celebrations - and started with Trooping The Colour, where Prince Louis stole some of his great-grandmother's thunder.

After the big event, some of the royals got together for a private celebration, which Mike has now singled out as a special moment.

Mike and Zara have a close bond with many of the royal's cousins, especially Prince William and Harry.

Meghan and Harry weren't included in the official Trooping the Colour ceremony, but the Queen did invite them to watch the ceremony from the Horses Guard.

They joined other less senior royals, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and the Tindalls, to watch through the window overlooking the event - where we captured some sweet photographs.

Meghan was spotted mucking about with some of the younger royals, jokingly telling them to shush as they watched the incredible display.

It is thought Meghan and Harry joined the Queen and other senior royals for a special lunch at Buckingham Palace to mark the occasion afterwards.

This would have given them a proper opportunity to sit down and chat - and would have marked the first time they were all together since Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals.

There are reports that the Queen attended, however it's not clear who else was there.

The Cambridges, Prince Charles, Camilla, the York sisters and their families, the Tindalls and the Wessexes were all in the viewing room so are likely attendees.

Body language expert Judi James told The Mirror the Duchess was "in her element" playing around with the children.

Mike Tindall marked the Queen's occasion with a series of photos on Instagram.

He shared a sweet post on Insta (mike_tindall12/Instagram)

“Who knew that wearing your missus’s hats would actually be a thing? So yeah that was a thing.”

On one cheeky snap, he wrote: "'Personal fave of mine! I definitely need to wear more hats.'

On another, he added: 'Hats day 2! Fave so far! What colour do you think tomorrow will be?'

On Twitter, one royal fan wrote: "Mike Tindall is definitely the fun and cool uncle #HM70 "

The dad-of-three shared a snapshot of his wife alongside her cousin Princess Eugenie, dressed in brightly coloured outfits: 'When you combine your favourite Starbursts!! Two world-class ladies!! #starburst #platinumjubilee.'
