Mike Tindall details royal reaction to I'm A Celebrity stint as he comes fourth

Mike Tindall thinks he could get some interesting Christmas gifts from the royals this year - following his I'm A Celebrity stint.

The ex rugby player became the first member of the Royal Family to ever take part in the ITV jungle show and ended up placing fourth behind Matt Hancock, Owen Warner and Jill Scott. As he appeared on Good Morning Britain today alongside Hollyoaks star Owen, he was quizzed on the royal reaction to his appearance Down Under.

Chatting to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls and entertainment reporter Richard Arnold, Mike admitted he wasn't sure how many of them had watched the show - but was convinced there'd be some interesting Christmas conversations as a result.

Asked if he knew how many of the royals had watched, Mike replied: "I'm not - but I'm sure I'll find out at some point. Christmas is around the corner. Let's see if some interesting gifts come under the tree.

"There's some sense of humour kicking around in the family so I'll wait for some interesting gifts to see how many people were watching. I don't think she [Princess Anne] was watching, but I think Zara might have told her [about his discussion when he revealed he split his pants in front of his mother in law and was wearing 'nibble my nuts' underwear]."

He added: "I'm pretty sure it's probably etched in her memory for all the wrong reasons so I'll hide away from that one."

Mike placed fourth on I'm A Celebrity this year, with Matt Hancock, Owen Warner and eventual winner Jill Scott placing in third, second and first respectively. Mike narrowly missed out on a final place after leaving on Saturday night following the public vote.

During his time in the jungle, he took part in a string of challenges including the iconic Celebrity Cyclone whilst he also got stuck into camp life. He also opened up about his marriage with Zara Tindall, the daughter of Princess Anne. Speaking about how they met in Australia of all places, he said: "I was at the World Cup, she was out watching.

"I got dropped from the semi-final. I was p****d off and so I went for a beer with another guy who got dropped and a guy who was over [in Sydney]. They’d met her before and they introduced us and then got chatting."

He also opened up about their first date, insisting it was a "boozy" one.

"First actual date, just went out for lunch locally. And ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed. It was a good start," he shared of the pair's first date together.

Mike also gave an insight into being a part of the Royal Family, having discussed what it was like staying in Buckingham Palace - and shocked Owen with his revelation that he could wear jeans in the palace.
