Mike Tindall details boozy night out with Zara after Coronation when royals went to bed

Mike Tindall has detailed his boozy night out with wife Zara following the Coronation of King Charles.

The former rugby player - who is married to Princess Anne's daughter Zara - was at the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla last weekend, with the pair also making an appearance at the Coronation concert in Windsor Castle on Sunday.

Mike became a hit with viewers at home for his dancing. He and Zara having gone out the night before the coronation, where they were photographed arriving home at two in the morning following a dinner with other members of the Royal Family including Prince Andrew and his daughters, Princess Anne and Prince Edward at a private club in Mayfair.

Mike spoke to Kate Garraway and Adil Ray on Good Morning Britain today (ITV)

Speaking on Good Morning Britain about his night out with Zara when the other royals had gone to bed, he said: "It was nice to have a little date night. When you've got three children, it's not always easy to have a little bit time together to have a drink and chat."

As Adil suggested most people would skip the night out if they knew they had a big day the next day, Mike joked back: "I always say never worry about tomorrow, just focus on the moment and you can worry about tomorrow later."

Following the dinner, sources revealed that the Tindalls continued their evening at the nearby Arts Club, before leaving at 2am, where they were photographed walking through London, taking in the sights of the capital ready for the Coronation.

A witness claimed they were "stumbling in the street while taking in all the Coronation bunting before getting into a taxi home".

The pair are always lauded by the public for how 'relatable' they are, which was no doubt proven when Zara shed a tear during a candid and emotional chat with husband Mike for his YouTube series.

In one part of the chat, Zara discussed her horse High Kingdom, with whom she won her Olympic medal, and revealed how important it was for her to win the medal, especially for the horse's owner Trevor Hemmings, who died last year.

She said: "We managed to get him [High Kingdom] to the Olympics, which was incredible. Trev – Trevor Hemmings – has won so many amazing things racing, in his racing career, and Grand Nationals and things like that."

Getting emotional, she added: "But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing. And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible. I'm going to get emotional."
