Reflecting on the events of four years ago, Pence contrasted the recent certification process with the violent breach of the US Capitol during Trump's refusal to concede the presidency. Pence highlighted the mob's assault on law enforcement officials, threats to lawmakers, and damage to the Capitol building, all while Trump remained passive and even criticized Pence for upholding his oath of office.
