Mike Jackson has a fourth UFC fight coming his way.
Jackson, 37, will fight 25-year-old Pete Rodriguez on Oct. 15 at a UFC Fight Night event. Two people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Monday but asked to remain anonymous since the UFC hasn’t made an announcement.
The card currently does not have an announced location or venue.
Jackson (1-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) picked up his first UFC victory in his most recent fight, although not how hoped to after Dean Barry was disqualified for an eye gouge (after a spinning kick to the groin) this past April. It was the first time Jackson was in action in nearly four years since a 2018 no contest against CM Punk, which originally was a win but overturned after Jackson tested positive for marijuana. Jackson’s only other UFC fight was a debut submission loss to Mickey Gall back in 2016.
Rodriguez (4-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will look to rebound from a loss in his UFC debut earlier this year, At UFC 270 in January, Rodriguez was knocked out in the first round by Jack Della Maddalena. Prior to that, Rodriguez was undefeated at 4-0 in iKon Fighting Federation.
With the addition, the updated UFC Fight Night card on Oct. 15 includes:
- Jared Cannonier vs. Sean Strickland
- Viviane Araujo vs. Alexa Grasso
- Mike Jackson vs. Pete Rodriguez
