Mike Jackson reveals Burnley quality that serves as warning to Leeds United and relegation rivals

Burnley caretaker manager Mike Jackson has hailed the togetherness in his squad since taking charge earlier this month. Jackson has been handed the reins after the sacking of Sean Dyche 10 days ago, stringing together a run of seven points from their last three matches.

The Clarets’ recent form has seen the battle to beat the drop tighten up immensely over the last week, with Burnley now out of the bottom three and just two points behind Leeds United. Jackson has seemingly helped rejuvenate a side that looked dead and buried after their dismal defeat to Norwich City in Dyche’s final game in charge.

And speaking in the wake of yesterday’s 1-0 win over Wolves at Turf Moor, Jackson believes that the players have really ‘come together’ following his arrival into the first team fold.

Via quotes from Lancashire Live, he said: “Third game in the Premier League in a week, the ground you have to cover, the intensity, and what they've dealt with, it's been outstanding. I don't like to mention players, but look at Jack Cork, he was unbelievable today, immense, and I could go through the rest of the lads.

“But the group has come together and it's all credit to them, the staff, everyone involved, and, adding on top of that, the reaction we're getting from the fans - they're dragging the players through those little lulls, they've been terrific.

“You're trying to achieve that (pulling in same direction), and it's really hard to do that, what we've got here is a group that have come together and have a great team spirit, and any manager or coach will tell you that is one of the hardest things to do, to create, because that can carry you a hell of a long way, rather than a group of individuals.”
