The ongoing feud between Australian TikTok stars Anna Paul and Mikaela Testa has taken a new turn, with Mikaela making serious claims about Anna’s treatment of her pets, particularly her birds. Mikaela noticed that Anna had gotten a new bird and decided to make a TikTok video with several allegations that have sparked major concern all over the internet.
Mikaela claimed that Anna frequently acquired new birds, stating, “Anna would constantly buy new birds, and I mean a new bird, almost every six months or so. She even had five birds at one point.”
However, the most troubling aspect of Mikaela’s allegations was the alleged lack of care these birds received. According to Mikaela, “This woman does not care for her birds unless they’re in a TikTok video, they sit in a cage. I witnessed this for many years.”
Mikaela’s claims paint a pretty grim picture, describing birds left alone in cages, only brought out for content. She even alleges that she heard Anna say, “I can’t wait for these birds to die,” after getting cats, because apparently, it was too tough juggling both pets.
“I would hear her say, ‘I can’t wait for these birds to die’, because it is hard having cats and birds at the same time, which I agree with. It is very hard to have birds and cats at the same time. But these birds would rot in the cage with sheets, or sometimes no sheets on them, by themselves,” she said in her TikTok.
One bird, in particular, seems to have had it rough. Mikaela says, “Quakesy, until he died… When I broke up with Atis — it’s been about two years now — that bird has sat in a cage. We haven’t even seen it in content.”
“I just heard from Atis’ new ex-girlfriend that the bird sat in a cage in the laundry, and she actually never saw it out of the cage.
“When I wasn’t around, I know for damn sure nobody fucking cared for them. Only your mother changed the bird seed and the water every freaking week.”
Mikaela references a comment from a user named Tiarne (@whereistiarne) in which similar claims were made. “My partner put in smoke alarms at her house when they all lived together and in one of the wardrobe rooms with no windows was so many birds in cages!!! He said it was the most bizarre experience,” the comment read.
PEDESTRIAN.TV has reached out to the account, but has been unable to verify these claims. Further, Pedestrian is not suggesting that the claims are true, only that they have been made.
These allegations have not gone unnoticed by the TikTok community. Angela Hammond, a fellow TikToker and bird owner, called for action, saying, “We need to have some sort of a RSPCA or a welfare check done on these birds. This has nothing to do with bullying, this has nothing to do with taking sides, this has to do with the health and welfare of those animals.”
As of now, Anna Paul has not addressed these specific allegations about her birds. Her most recent TikTok post shows her in America, seemingly unaware of or choosing not to engage with the growing concern over her alleged animal care practices.
It’s important to note that this controversy is part of a larger ongoing conflict between Anna and Mikaela. Previously, Mikaela had accused Anna of speaking negatively about fans and pretending to be “broke”. Anna responded to those initial accusations in a lengthy TikTok video, denying claims of calling fans “fat” and explaining her perspective on growing up feeling financially insecure.
The exact number of pets Anna currently owns remains unclear, especially given the allegations of frequent bird purchases and uncertain fates of previous pets. Her followers have expressed their concerns in the comments of her recent posts, calling for answers about the claims regarding Quakesy and her other birds.
Mikaela teased at the beginning of her video that she plans to record a podcast episode to share all the receipts she has on Anna, but there has been no confirmed date on this.
