Miguel Almiron Premier League's stat which puts him ahead of Martinelli and Son

Miguel Almiron is comfortably the Premier League's top sprinter with 356 sprints completed so far this season. The Paraguayan has been one of the standout players for Newcastle this season, who are currently sat in third place heading into the winter break.

Eddie Howe's side have been one of the most aggressive, pressing sides in the division and Almiron plays a huge part in the efficiency of that in the final third. It's already his best season in front of goal in a black and white shirt, with eight goals in 15 appearances - more than half of the Premier League goals he's scored in his entire Magpies' tenure.

The work that the 28-year-old has put in to establish himself as one of the first names on the team sheet this season, deserves every ounce of praise that comes his way. From Newcastle looking for a right-winger in the summer, to now prioritise other areas, is testament to how well Almiron has performed this season.
