Migrant Crisis: Infectious Diseases Surge Amidst Border Chaos!

Border is not open, despite high number of migrant encounters.

Title: Border Crisis Intensifies as Illegal Migrant Numbers Soar

As the year comes to a close, the Biden administration is facing mounting pressure to address the unprecedented influx of illegal migrants at the southern border. Despite claims of a secure border, the numbers tell a different story, with December witnessing the highest number of migrant encounters ever recorded, reaching a staggering 276,000 migrants. This surge has placed significant strain on border states like Texas, where the situation has escalated to the point of legal intervention.

Texas, grappling with the crisis on a daily basis, recently attempted to take matters into its own hands by implementing measures to police its own border. However, the Biden Justice Department swiftly responded by threatening to sue the state, accusing it of overstepping its jurisdiction. The move has sparked controversy and highlighted the administration's contradictory stance on immigration enforcement.

Meanwhile, the backlog of immigration cases continues to grow at an alarming rate, with an estimated 7 million cases pending. The chronic underreaction of Congress to address the severity of the border crisis has been a major impediment in stemming the flow of illegal immigration. The situation demands swift action, and Republicans in Congress are being called upon to take a more proactive approach.

Democratic mayors in cities heavily impacted by the influx of migrants are feeling the strain on their budgets. The burden of providing support and resources to accommodate the growing number of migrants has become unsustainable without substantial federal assistance. The mayors are demanding increased support, as they face financial restrictions and potential economic collapse.

Amidst these challenges, health concerns are reportedly re-emerging as a result of unvaccinated migrants entering the country. Cases of polio, leprosy, and malaria have been detected in some parts of the United States. Half of the migrants pouring into New York City alone are reportedly unvaccinated against polio, raising concerns about disease outbreaks.

Dr. Mark Siegel, a medical expert, warns that the border crisis is not only a national security emergency but also a public health emergency. Tuberculosis, often treated only partially in Central America, has become a significant concern as resistant strains are emerging in southern states. Additionally, the lack of vaccination coverage during the pandemic has left populations vulnerable to diseases such as measles and chickenpox.

As the new year approaches, the Biden administration faces mounting challenges and public scrutiny regarding its handling of the border crisis. Critics argue that a more proactive and comprehensive approach is urgently needed to address the influx of illegal migrants and mitigate the potential health risks associated with unchecked immigration.

Despite claims of a secure border, the unprecedented numbers of illegal migrants and the subsequent strain on resources and public health underscore the severity and complexity of the situation. The question remains whether Congress and the Biden administration will step up and take the necessary actions to protect both national security and public health in the face of this ongoing crisis.
