Khloe Kardashian and Chris Eubank Jr pay tribute after Migos rapper Takeoff shot dead in Houston

Tributes have been paid to Migos rapper Takeoff by boxer Chris Eubank Jr and Khloe Kardashian after he was shot dead in Texas.

The rapper, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was killed at a party held in a Houston bowling alley on Tuesday.

The American hip hop artist, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, was part of the Atlanta-based group alongside his uncle, Quavo, and cousin, Offset.

According to TMZ, the 28-year-old had been playing dice with bandmate Quavo at the party.

British athlete Chris Eubank Jr wrote on Twitter: "I remember @1YoungTakeoff being a very down to earth, cool dude.

"Cant believe I’m having to say this again about another young black star being killed for no reason, something really has to change in the industry, it’s sickening how easy & often people are dying. RIP Takeoff."

Fellow US boxer Jake Paul also took to Twitter to call for “unity" and the end to "senseless killings" while paying tribute to Takeoff.

Reality star Khloe Kardashian also said on Twitter: “This is so sad. Wow! over what?? May God cover everyone who is in pain. These senseless acts have got to end. So so sad."

Two other people were wounded and rushed to hospital following the shooting.

Security guards who were in the area heard the shooting but did not manage to identify the gunman, a police spokesperson said. No arrests have been made.

Quavo, 31, whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, was not hurt. Third band member - Takeoff’s cousin Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus - was not at the party.

Also among those paying tribute to Takeoff after his death was British musician Dave, real name David Omoregie, who shared a series of photos on Instagram of the pair.

He captioned the pictures saying “my brother...days we spent together were priceless" and “prayers for your family bro".

American singer Lauren Jauregui, known best for girl group Fifth Harmony, also wrote on Twitter: "Oh my God...rest in peace Takeoff...I can’t believe that..omg."

The Grammy-nominated Migos trio from Georgia have had four Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including their multi-week No 1 “Bad and Boujee” featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

They released a trilogy of albums called “Culture,” “Culture II” and “Culture III,” with the first two reaching No 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

They earned an ASCAP Vanguard Award in 2019 for their streaming success with multiplatinum songs like “Motorsport (featuring Cardi B and Nicki Minaj),” “Stir Fry,” and “Walk It Talk It.”

Offset, who is married to female rap superstar Cardi B, released a solo album in 2019, while Takeoff and Quavo released a joint album titled “Only Built for Infinity Links” last month.
